The legacy left behind by her late husband, former Las Piñas Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar, on health services and education, was the guiding light for Mayor Imelda Aguilar to continue with the best brand of public service.

Through “Tuloy ang Tapat at Progresibong Serbisyo,” Aguilar said more green cards will be given for health services and hospitalization support of the city government to residents amounting to P30,000 of the total hospital bill of the confined patient.

Under the expanded green card program, seven more hospitals have been accredited to serve the medical needs of residents. These hospitals are the Christ the King Medical Center, Unihealth, Pamplona Hospital and Medical Center, Perpetual Help Medical Center- Las Piñas, Las Piñas Doctor’s Hospital, San Juan de Dios Hospital, Philippine General Hospital, and Las Piñas City Medical Center.

On education, the city-run college, Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College of Las Piñas, which was established by Mayor Nene, has already produced successful scholars.

The dream of Mayor Nene in making the city clean and green has been fulfilled with Las Piñas being recognized as the first city in the country to receive the United Nations award for environmental protection.

Las Piñas, a champion of the environment, continues to conduct cleanliness and environment protection programs in the city.
