“My philosophy on public service is simple: because the power resides on the people, and being the Bulacan governor, I must reciprocate the trust of my countrymen by serving them with all diligence and honesty.”
Governor Daniel R. Fernando said this as he emphasized that he always puts the welfare of his people first, with the honor of serving others reposed upon him as a gift from the Almighty.
Fernando has put a premium on the health and safety of Bulakenyos by ensuring the prompt delivery of basic health services, by having adequate and modern hospitals facilities, by enriching the skills of health professionals, and by reaching out to help the community through Damayan sa Barangay and the Damayang Filipino Movement Incorporated.
In times of calamities and disasters, Fernando had been at the forefront of relief operations and in finding long-term solutions such as river restoration and dredging projects, as well as the creation of water impounding stations and mega dike to end the flooding problem.
To preserve peace and order in the province, the governor said that with the help of the Bulacan police, strategic checkpoint operations and visibility patrols are being conducted.
“As I always say, Bulacan is the next global destination, it is the new economic powerhouse, not only in the country, but indeed, in the world. The influx of investors in the province is no longer a surprise for us. Huge national government projects are already in the province like the MRT-7, North-South Commuter Railway Project, and the most awaited of all, the New Manila International Airport in Bulakan town,” he said.
Fernando said these big-ticket projects will bring immeasurable job opportunities forBulakenyos.
“No one will be left behind. Everyone will benefit,” he stressed.
“We are upskilling our Bulakenyo workers. We are investing in the knowledge and skills of our compatriots because we aim for them to be the primary recipients of the jobs and opportunities from the projects being built in the province,” he said.
“That’s why we continue to provide technical, vocational, and livelihood trainings to them, even strengthening our cooperatives and local businesses so that we can have a holistic approach for our long-term development,” said Fernando.
He added that Bulacan is poised for development and urged Bulakenyos to be a part of the progress that will bring a better future for everyone.
